Bell Brothers — Throw Away The Key

Today, is Deep Soul Sunday This track from Alex and Leroy Bell is a master piece of Deep Soul music: from the brothers’ vocal harmonizing to the perfect guitar sound all the way to the horns. Alex sings lead and plays the guitar. Throw Away The Key was their third record for Sure-Shot Records which was, according to Sir Shambling’s, cut in Memphis. If you listen to the horn section that blends with the mellow, dreamy guitar,  you’ll realize  that perfection sometimes comes disguised as simplicity.

Their two other singles were Pity Me and Your Kind of Love.

  1. I’ve been playing this one a lot lately thanks to
http://www.colmenadehumo.blogspot.com/ who alerted me to it.

    As you say: perfection.

  2. ((Darcy)) this is such a beautiful song — I have it my “daily’s” playlist. I’ve checked that blog out — goes on the blogroll. Thanks for letting me know.
