Eddie McGee — What Made You Change

I just love the sound of Hi Records. Can you imagine what a tremendous gap there would be between the gritty Southern Soul genre and the smooth Philly Sound, had there never been that distinct rhythm and sound so typical for Hi Records? The immortal songs of such first-rate artists as Otis Clay, Syl Johnson, Ann Peebles, and Al Green, for example, would never have been sung … I don’t even want to imagine what we would never have heard, had it not been for Willi Mitchell’s creative genius.

So, today I have something to post by  Hi Records artist Eddie McGee. What Made You Change makes me want for more and more of the same kind. It’s like eating your favorite ice cream — one serving just won’t do.

You’ll find the song on this fantastic compilation.
